Workshops

Workshops presenters:

Robert Newman, L.Ac., M.S.T.C.M. will be conducting a Chinese medicinal plant workshop on June 25th, 2001 from 10 AM to 4 PM. Robert has worked as a curator of the medicinal garden in the Nanjing Botanical Gardens in Nanjing, China and has traveled extensively in China. Currently Robert supervises interns in the clinic at Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine and teaches the "Introduction to Herbs" intensive class at the school. Robert is an extraordinary collector of Chinese medicinal plants and has provided me with most of the plant material we grow here in the gardens and greenhouses at Plant It Herbs.

Betty Patterson, L.Ac. lives and practices acupuncture in Borrego Springs, Ca. She also practices Tai chi, Qi Gong and teaches Yoga in this desert community northeast of San Diego. Betty's workshop will incorporate a session of Qi Gong, a garden tour, preparing food with Chinese herbs and making tonic formulas.

Please join us for a day long workshop with Robert Newman on June 25, and Betty Patterson on July 21. Lunch and a snack will be provided and the cost for each workshop is $50.00 to be paid in advance by credit card or check. Directions to Plant It Herbs:

When you arrive in Athens, Ohio continue east on 50 toward Belpre. On the 4 lane highway to the left you will see a sign for Dow Lake continue on the highway and to the right you will see a sign for Co. Rd. 24A turn right and cross the Hocking river. After you have crossed the river on the left you will see a gray township trustee building. Make a left at the building and you are on Co. Rd. 24 or South Cannan Rd., go exactly 4 miles. After going 4 miles you will see a big white church on the left called the South Cannan Baptist Church. The road just after the church is called Locust Lane Rd., turn left and stay to the left of the Y until you reach a dead end. Continue up the road to the left and you will see the Plant It Herbs sign. Continue up the concrete driveway and look for the parking signs.
