#10740 Physalis peruviana, deng long guo, Cape gooseberry, Solanaceae - Deng long is the name of the ancient Chinese paper lanterns and guo means fruit; attractive furry leaved tender perennial grows in well- drained soil in sun; fruits are harvested when ripe and used fresh as juice or in jam making, dried leaves are picked in summer and used as a fresh poultice; whole plant is said to clear heat, moves qi, stops pain, cough, abdominal fullness, stops colds and flu.
